Environmental label
What is the environmental label?
Environmental labeling consists of identifying all packaging placed on the Italian market, to indicate its composition, facilitate its collection, reuse, recovery, recycling and correct disposal by the consumer.
Legislative decree 3 September 2020, n. 116 provides that all packaging is "appropriately labeled according to the methods established by the applicable UNI technical standards and in compliance with the decisions adopted by the Commission of the European Union".
By "properly labeled" we mean in the form and ways that the company deems most effective for achieving the established goal.
The provisions relating to the environmental labeling of packaging have been introduced with the amendments to the Art. 219 of Legislative Decree 152/06, introduced by the entry into force of Legislative Decree 116/2020, which implemented Directive (EU) 2018/851 on waste and EU Directive 2018/852 on packaging and waste of packaging, the obligation of which started from 01/01/2023.
