Prop Valves

The lever type proportioning valve CP3550-13 provides the driver with 7 distinct settings from which to produce the most suitable braking ratio.

General Information:
Installation
To obtain the best performance using this valves, the brake balance should be biased towards the rear so that with the valve piped in to the rear line and set in position 7  where virtually no reductions occurs, the balance is as much to the rear as will ever be needed. Moving the control lever to a lower setting will progressively reduce the rear line pressure giving more bias to the front, for use when more grip is available.

Nominal Ratio of 0.325.
Weight = 180g approx.

Note:
This proportioning valves is suitable for use with any brake fluid that conforms to DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 standards, but best all round performance will be achieved with AP Racing 600 brake fluid.

The screw type proportioning valve CP3550-14 offers infinite adjustment within the limits of normal brake operation. With the cap screwed fully in no reduction in output pressure occurs, with the cap screwed fully out, output pressure is reduced to approximately 1/3rd of input pressure.

Screwing the cap outwards to a lower setting will progressively reduce the rear line pressure giving more bias to the front, for use when more grip is available.

This valve enables the user to utilise original fluid pipe runs on Grp N or similar applications where a tandem (dual circuit) master cylinder is specified. Fully regulates the front to rear brake pressure by placing the valve in line to the rear brakes. More pressure is then applied to the front giving a much better overall braking performance.
This brake bias valve allows for 0-51% reduction in line pressure and a range of 100-1000psi adjustment.
The adjuster has no click stops, so you can adjust balance exactly where you want it.
